Folsom Light Rail Service Now Available
Exciting News for Folsom Area Riders!
SacRT is thrilled to announce that light rail service to Folsom area stations resumed on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Additionally, on Monday, January 6, 2025, SacRT launched 15-minute service frequency at all Folsom area light rail stations, including:
- Hazel
- Iron Point
- Glenn/Robert G. Holderness
- Historic Folsom
Folsom Service Update
As with any significant service improvement, there are some temporary challenges during this transition. Riders may experience occasional delays as we adjust to the new S700 low-floor trains, updated track layout, and increased service frequency.
To ensure the best schedule efficiency during this period, passengers may occasionally need to deboard at Sunrise Station and board a different train heading in their direction of travel. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding as we work to optimize service.

What’s New? With the addition of a passing track at Glenn/Robert G. Holderness Station, SacRT is now providing more frequent service on weekdays, significantly enhancing convenience for Folsom area riders. This improvement marks a major milestone in SacRT’s commitment to modernizing transit in the region.
At Glenn/Robert G. Holderness Station, riders will notice a new station design and two separate boarding platforms and tracks: board one side for travel toward Historic Folsom and the other for travel toward Sacramento. Please remember to look both ways before crossing the tracks.
Light Rail Train Service Details:
- Weekdays (Monday through Friday): 15-minute frequency from approximately 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
- All weekday Gold Line trains will now serve Folsom area stations, eliminating the previous alternating train schedule.
- Weekends: 30-minute service frequency will continue on Saturdays and Sundays (every other Gold Line train at Folsom area stations).
