Experience the Future of Light Rail: SacRT InvitesCommunity to Tour New Low-Floor Trains
The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is thrilled to announce the unveiling of its newest innovation in light rail service, the S700 Low-Floor Light Rail Vehicle. As part of the commitment to enhancing public transportation in the Sacramento region, SacRT invites the public to tour these cutting-edge trains at two community events in June.
Event Details:
Saturday, June 1, 2024 Wednesday, June 12, 2024
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
13th Street Station 7th & Richards/Township 9 Station
(1225 R Street, Sacramento) (7th Street and Richards Boulevard, Sacramento)
These events are open to everyone to experience a sneak peek of SacRT’s new low-floor light rail trains, and have a little fun too.
Getting There:
To encourage participation, SacRT is offering FREE rides to both events with a free ride flyer available at sacrt.com/s700events. Please note that regular light rail service will not be available directly to the events due to the new trains being on display on the tracks. Supplemental shuttle bus service will be provided for the June 1st event, while riders can take bus route 11 to the June 12th event. A free bike valet, provided by SABA, will be available at the 13th Street Station event.
About the New S700 Trains:
The S700 low-floor trains are set to debut on the Gold and Green lines in late summer 2024. These state-of-the-art vehicles are designed to enhance accessibility, comfort, and efficiency for all riders.
