What is SacRT Forward?
SacRT is launching a major redesign of its bus network. Over the last two years, SacRT gathered input from the community and stakeholders, participated in outreach events and designed a new network of bus routes based on the feedback and data analysis.
What is the goal of SacRT Forward?
The goal is to provide an updated bus network that reflects customer needs, meets today’s current travel patterns and features improved connectivity with more direct service and better frequency.
How did we get here?
A draft plan of the bus network was released for public review on December 10, 2018. Major outreach efforts took place across our entire service area to let riders and stakeholders know about the proposed plan. Since December 10, SacRT received more than 600 comments from the public. Staff participated in more than 70 community, neighborhood association and stakeholder meetings, and has ridden every bus route in the system to hand out information to customers and bus operators.

Where are we now?
The SacRT Board of Directors approved the new bus network on February 25, 2019. SacRT is actively working on a major outreach and marketing campaign to inform riders and the general public at about the changes at community events and riding the impacted bus routes. Watch for informational items on the buses and light rail trains, at transit centers, and key bus stops, on our website and your email.
