Updated Folsom 15 Minute Map 1

Rider Alert: Folsom area light rail customers can expect light rail service disruptions and continued bus bridges between Iron Point and Historic Folsom stations for the duration of the construction period, which has been extended into November 2024.

SacRT is making significant construction progress in adding a passing track at the Glenn/Robert G. Holderness Station to be able to provide 15-minute light rail service to all Folsom area stations including Hazel, Iron Point, Glenn/Robert G. Holderness and Historic Folsom.

However, Folsom area light rail customers can expect light rail service disruptions and bus bridges to continue between Iron Point and Historic Folsom stations through November 2024.

SacRT still needs to conduct additional tests and obtain final approvals from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) before launching 15-minute service. We appreciate your patience as we work toward an official opening date.

Note: The schedule can change depending on weather and other factors. Please check back for service updates.

Here is video of the track testing that occurred on Friday, November 8, 2024.

Folsom Boulevard Lane Closures

There are lane closures on Folsom Boulevard as part of the Folsom 15-Minute Project. These closures impact the stretch of Folsom Boulevard between Bidwell Street and Parkshore Drive. Glenn Drive between Folsom Blvd and Coolridge Drive reopened on October 20, 2024.

During the construction period, the two northbound lanes closest to the train tracks are closed to vehicular traffic. To ensure the safety of commuters and construction crews, vehicle traffic is redirected into the adjacent southbound lanes for both directions of travel.

Folsom Boulevard is reduced from two lanes to one lane in both directions and the speed limit reduced to 35 mph. The lane closures are expected to remain in effect seven days a week until the completion of the project.

To help ease traffic congestion during this period, motorists are recommended to take alternate routes and adjust travel times if possible.

Project Timeline

Construction is expected to be completed in winter 2024. Upon project completion, new low-floor trains will arrive in and depart from Historic Folsom Station every 15 minutes during the weekday.
