In honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day, the MLK March of the Dream will be held in Sacramento on Monday, January 20, 2025.  

A SacRT bus with the "It all started on a bus" banner will be displayed in the March for the Dream, which begins at Sacramento City College, 3895 Freeport Blvd.  

The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and the march departs at 9:15 a.m.  

March Route Directions:  
The four-mile March will start at the big loop from City College to Freeport Blvd.  

• Left on 13th Avenue to Land Park Drive 

• Right on Land Park to Broadway  

• Right on Broadway to 19th / Freeport Blvd. 

• Right on Freeport back to Sacramento City College  

Note: Marchers can board the bus if they get tired!

North Sacramento Del Paso Heights March 

A second March is scheduled to take place on January 20, 2025 in North Sacramento/Del Paso Heights. The March will begin at Grant Union High School located at 1400 Grand Ave, Sacramento, CA 95838.  

Schedule 

Assembly: 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. 

Program: 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. 

Symbolic March: 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. 

Resource Fair/Lunch: 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. 

Strategy Sessions 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. 

March Route Directions – North Sacramento Del Paso Heights: 

• Start at Grant Union High School 

• Turn right onto South Avenue 

• Turn right onto Rio Linda Boulevard 

• Turn right onto Grand Avenue 

• Follow Grand Avenue back to Grant Union High School
