Service Disruptions Due to Ironman California Triathlon

SacRT will have limited services in downtown Sacramento on Sunday, October 27, 2024 due to road closures for the Ironman California Triathlon.  

Fixed-route bus and light rail services will not operate in parts of downtown Sacramento from noon until the end of service due the race. 

The following light rail stations will be closed on Sunday, October 27 starting at noon: 

  • Gold Line: Sacramento Valley Station, 7th & I Street/County Center, 8th & H Street/County Center, 8th & K, 7th & Capitol, 8th & Capitol, 8th & O, and Archives Plaza 
  • Blue Line: 9th & K, 7th & Capitol, 8th & Capitol, 8th & O, and Archives Plaza 

A bus bridge (shuttle bus between stations) will be in place to transport riders on the Gold and Blue lines in downtown Sacramento.  

  • For the Gold Line, the bus bridge will be from the Sacramento Valley Station to the 13th Street Station.  
  • For the Blue Line, the bus bridge will be from 10th & K/11th & K Street to 13th Street stations.  

Note: The bus bridge will not be able to make any downtown stops in between due to road closures.  

Bus detours will be in place for routes 11, 30, 38, 51, 62, 86, 88, and 142.  

Those who need a return trip from downtown can catch a special service bus at one of the following light rail stations 

  • 13th Street (Blue Line toward Cosumnes River College Station or Gold Line toward Sunrise/Folsom) 
  • 11th & K  (Blue Line toward Watt/I-80 Station) 

SacRT urges riders to ask the bus operator which direction they’re going to ensure they’re not boarding the wrong bus.
