Blue Line Service Update: Now Open with Single-Track Operations

Blue Line is Open Temporary Single-track service

SacRT has resumed Blue Line light rail service following a 15-day construction closure to support the development of the new Dos Rios Station. While full service has returned, temporary single-track operations are now in effect between Globe Station and Alkali Flat/La Valentina Station.

What Riders Need to Know:

  • Blue Line trains are running, but only one track is in use in the construction zone.
  • This may cause minor delays between Globe and Alkali Flat/La Valentina stations.
  • SacRT is actively monitoring train flow and will adjust schedules as needed to minimize impacts.

Why Single-Track Operations?

This is part of the ongoing construction for the new Dos Rios Station, which includes:

  • Relocating the overhead catenary system (which powers the trains)
  • Reconfiguring track infrastructure for inbound and outbound service

To safely complete this work, North 12th Street from Richards Boulevard to D Street will remain closed for approximately five months, beginning November 10, 2025.

What’s Next?

SacRT is committed to minimizing service disruptions while delivering this important station project. Riders traveling through the affected area should allow a few extra minutes for their trip.

Thank you for your patience as we build a better, more connected transit system for our region.
