If high gas prices
are bringing you down, for fast relief try transit a few days a
week and save money for the things you enjoy!

The Sacramento Regional Transit District (RT) has an
online trip planner that makes it easy to plan a trip by transit, bus
and/or light rail train. Just enter your starting and destination addresses,
time you wish to leave or arrive, and it will do the rest. You will
receive all of the information needed to make your:
Stop locations, route numbers, schedule, walking distance and cost.
With one extra click it will even plan your return trip.

How to
Ride Light Rail
- Purchase a ticket at the fare vending machine. Light rail passengers who fail to show proof of payment may be fined.
- Wait on the correct side of the track. The blue and white signs can tell you on which side you should stand.
- When the train arrives, push the button on the door to enter.
- Find your seat.
- Listen and watch for your stop.
- When you arrive at your station, push the button to open the door, and exit.

How to
Ride the Bus
- Wait at your bus stop with exact change for your fare.
- When the bus approaches, wave to the driver to stop.
- Board bus and input money into the machine.
- Find your seat.
- Listen and watch for your stop.
- Pull the yellow string to let the operator know you would like to get off at the next stop.
- Push the button or handle to open the rear doors, and exit.
