Dos Rios Construction

The construction of the future Dos Rios Light Rail Station began in November 2024. The station will be located on the Blue Line on North 12th Street between Richards Boulevard and Sunbeam Avenue in Sacramento.

Blue Line Temporary Lane Closure and Single – Track Operations

North 12th Street from Richards Boulevard to D Street is closed for five months starting on November 10, 2025.

Blue Line service is operating with temporary single-track operation between the future Dos Rios Station and Alkali Flat/La Valentina Station. This is part of the ongoing construction for the new Dos Rios Station.

While we don’t anticipate major delays, the single-track configuration may impact train schedules between Alkali Flat/La Valentina and Globe stations. SacRT will monitor operations closely and make adjustments as needed.

Background :

The Dos Rios Station will be part of the Blue Line. In December 2018, the project, along with an associated affordable housing development, received a $23 million Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Grant from the California Strategic Growth Council. The TCC Program supports projects that deliver major environmental, health, and economic benefits in disadvantaged communities, and the Dos Rios Station aligns with these goals. The SacRT Board of Directors approved funding for this new station on January 8, 2024. In total, the future Dos Rios Station project has secured $42.8 million in funding from state and federal sources. This includes $31.2 million in state funding from programs such as the Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program ($17.6 million), the Affordable Housing Sustainable Communities (AHSC) Program ($940,000), Senate Bill 125 (SB125) funds ($10 million), and the Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program (TIRCP) ($2.5 million). Additionally, $11.6 million in federal funding has been secured, including $9.6 million from the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant, $1 million from the FY24 THUD Appropriations Bill through Congressional Directed Spending, and $1,200,313 from other local and federal sources. Please visit https://www.shra.org/mirasol-village-redevelopment-project/ for additional information about the community redevelopment.
